About OMR Sheet Maker
OMR Sheet Maker helps teachers, schools and coaching institutes create professional OMR answer sheets and grade multiple-choice tests in minutes — without expensive desktop software or per-sheet charges.
Why we built it
Checking objective tests by hand is slow and error-prone, and traditional OMR software is costly and hard to set up. We wanted a simple, affordable, web-based tool any educator can use: design a sheet, print it, and grade it — by upload or by scanning a photo.
What you can do
- Generate OMR sheets as PDF or Word, from 10 to 500 questions, with custom branding and booklet sets.
- Build question papers and matching answer keys straight from a question bank.
- Auto-grade responses with scores, ranks, grades and item-level analytics.
- Scan filled sheets and read the marked bubbles automatically from a photo.
Who runs this site
OMR Sheet Maker is built and run by Akshay, based in Gujarat, India. I’ve been a web developer for the past 7 years, working on a range of similar projects — OMR Sheet Maker grew out of that experience, built to solve a problem I kept running into: schools and institutes needing a simple, affordable way to create and grade OMR sheets without expensive software.
It’s currently a one-person project — every feature on this site, from the PDF engine to the scanner, is built and maintained directly by me.
What we publish
Alongside the tools, we write practical guides on running paper-based MCQ exams: how to design an answer sheet that scans reliably, how negative marking changes attempt strategy, how to grade a class of two hundred without a scanner, and how institutes handle booklet sets and result publication. Guides come from running these processes ourselves or from questions users send in, and are updated when exam patterns change — the update date is shown on each article.
How the service is funded
The core tools — generating sheets, checking answers, the calculators and the practice sheet — are free to use, with no account required for the basics. The site is funded through a paid Pro plan for institutes that need higher limits, saved templates, scanning and report cards, and through advertising. Advertising never influences what we write or recommend.
Our promise
